Q. My thermostat is on but my floor is not heating up what should I do?
(1)Get the system checked by the installer
(2)Installer should provide full electrical tests before and after the system was installed.
(3)If all tests comply according to the installer then we should speak to him directly.
Q. The floor is not heating what should I do?
(1) Have they read and understood all electrical test procedures.
(2) Confirm resistance reading matches the chart within the kit purchased.
(3) Confirm an I.R. test was carried out before and after. This is the test between the conductor and the braid
Q. When my heater is switched on it is “tripping out to earth” what should I do?
(1) Has the original installer been back to check and test the underfloor heating system?

(3) If end user has installed it themselves then the answer is there is a break in the cable.
Q. If there is a break in the heater cable can I repair it?

Q. What tests should I carry out with the heating mat or cable?
(1) Continuity test – results should match table within your technical instructions.
(2) I.R. (Insulation Resistance) test - results should read ohms of “infinity”
(3) Above tests should be carried out prior to and after laying of heating system.
Q. Can I use your products under laminate or wood flooring?
(1) Yes – but the mat or cable MUST be immersed in a self leveling compound first.
(2) Normally a compound level of 10 mm will be sufficient.
(3) ) Inform customer to always check with the manufacturer as to the suitability of their product with under-floor heating.
Q. Can I use your products under carpets?
(1) Yes however the combined TOG value of both carpet and underlay must not exceed 1.5. TOG is the thermal resistance for heat transfer.

Q. Why would I choose loose cable as opposed to mats?
(1) The cable on both products is manufactured to the same specification.
(2) The loose cable is ideal for small complex areas and you can taylor your watts/m2 to suit the application.
Q. Why would I choose mats opposed to cable?
(1) Mats are ideal as the spacing is already calculated to give you a fixed watts/m2 and can be easier to lay.
Q. Can I link my UFH up in a plug and socket arrangement?
(1) Yes however this is not what we recommend.
(2) UFH is generally seen as a fixed installation and all cables should be hidden and protected with an earth leakage device.
Q. Why do I need insulation board?
(1) To prevent downward heat loss
(2) To ensure efficient running of your system
(3) To increase your heat up times
(4) Provides solid working platform and can replace plywood.
Q. What is the best solution for a conservatory?
We recommend the use of insulation boards to prevent any downward heat loss, and efficiently utilize all heat produced by the underfloor heating. For a primary heat source we recommend using the TwinMat 200
Q. The area is larger than the available mat/cable sizes provided – what do I do?
(1) Simply link multiple mats or loose cable together to create the coverage required.
(2) Calculate the current draw and if it exceeds 16 amps advise they will require further electrical work to take place. If necessary we will speak to their electrician.
Q. I want to claim under warranty what do I do?
(1) Please put all details in writing to us.
(2) Ensure you have test results for equipment prior to and after installation – no claim will be looked into without these results.
Q. What do we recommend when there is a bitumen floor?
((1) There should always be a tile back board laid first.
